National Philanthropy Day

National Philanthropy Day 2020

Today is National Philanthropy Day. This year it may be more important than ever. At DollarDays, we are lucky enough to work with some amazing nonprofit organizations. This year, we have consistently heard that many organizations have received fewer donations due to the Covid virus. It’s often these organizations that are out in our communities helping those impacted by the pandemic, but without donations, they don’t have the resources to help as many people as they would like.

The observance of this day is designated by the Association of Fundraising Professionals. It originated back in 1986 and was founded by California, resident Douglas Freeman. It was later formalized by then-President Ronald Reagan who signed a proclamation recognizing November 15th as National Philanthropy Day.

This year, we want to help the many organizations we work with to get the donations they need. At DollarDays, we have a program that allows organizations to create a Wishlist of the items they need to have donated. So, this year on National Philanthropy Day, we ask that you find an organization you would like to support and donate to today! You can easily look up organizations in your state and city if you don’t already have an organization in mind.

This year, we would like to call out three special organizations you can donate to. Operation Christmas Child located in Oregon. Lowcountry Blessing Boxes is helping those in their community with laundry assistance. Our final featured list is Coats For Kids from Kalispel, Montana.

This year, let’s remind all these wonderful nonprofit organizations how much support they have out in their communities. Please, donate to a Wishlist today. Click here to start searching!
