At DollarDays, an important part of our mission is serving non-profits. That’s why we love it when our service comes together with an organization that is doing so much good in their community. If you are not familiar with HomeAid, they are a nonprofit provider of housing and resources for people experiencing homelessness, operating through a network of 19 chapters in 13 states.
We had the opportunity to work with one of their chapters out of Austin, Texas. It started when Kelsey and Melissa contacted their DollarDays Account Manager, Candace. They were letting us know that they were starting a new program in their Austin chapter called HomeAid Supplies. Through this program, HomeAid Austin was partnering with local, at-risk schools to donate much-needed school supplies. Kelsey had gone around asking each of the schools what supplies they needed the most, with employees pitching in to help purchase those items.
One of our most popular of category of products we help organizations source is School Supplies. So, when Kelsey let us know what they were looking for, Candace went to work finding all the school supplies they still needed at a price that allowed them to serve as many students as possible. They were able to provide school supplies for 50 kids at 10 different elementary schools this year.
We love hearing how our employees have worked with organizations to do good in the communities so we wanted to thank Kelsey for sharing the following feedback: “Working with Candace at Dollar Days has been an absolute dream. She is always so patient and helpful with all of my requests, no matter how far-fetched or complex. Candace makes me feel like my orders are her top priority, though I’m certain she has a long list of clients. Thank You Candace and Thank You Dollar Days for enabling HomeAid Austin to easily and successfully run our Community Outreach program and serve those at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness.
